Vogues Team Formation Policy with Regard to the Change in the Age Determination
Date of January 1, 2008 to July 1, 2007
The Potomac Valley Vogues encourages all players to tryout
for a team based on the player's grade at the time of tryouts in March 2008.
Players trying out for the Potomac Valley Vogues girls' basketball teams in 2008
shall attend their current school grade tryout session (see table below). Any
player wishing to try out for a team outside of the player's grade affiliation
shall be permitted to do so only within AAU rules and with the consent of the
Vogues General Manager. Such requests and determination of the competitive
level in which the player will compete will be done directly following the first
day of grade-level tryouts. Coaches evaluations will be an integral part
of this process.
Our two division designation, Senior and Junior, is as follows:
· Senior Division—strictly grade-based teams will be formed for 9th through 12th grade (see the table below).
· Junior Division—predominantly grade-based teams will be formed for 3rd grade through 8th grade teams. Exceptions to this designation for the Junior Division teams based on the July 1, 2007 National AAU age determination date must be requested and approved by the Vogues General Manager.
· Please note: Playing up on a Regional team is not permitted.
Tryouts: Players will be required to attend two of the three scheduled tryouts per grade-level.
