Bio for Coach Skwara

Kate grew up in Rhode Island as the youngest of seven children including five older brothers.  She played four sports throughout high school and was selected as the RI Schoolgirl Athlete of the Year in 1984.  In three years of varsity basketball play, she scored more than 1300 points.  

She went on to play basketball at Division 1 Yale University.  Later, Kate coached both travel and AAU basketball in Massachusetts.  She was a Director for the Sarah Behn Basketball Camp based out of Foxboro MA.  In addition, she was a high school tennis coach for several years.    

She and her husband resided in MA for 16 years before moving to Northern Virginia in October, 2007.   Kate coached the Vienna U-12 Division 1 girls team to a 18-0 record in the FCYBL during the 2007-2008 season.  She looks forward to sharing her passion for basketball with the Vogues U10 Regional team as she focuses on fundamentals and teamwork.
