Bio for Coach Benjamin

Jeff began coaching basketball in 1992 in Vienna ’s house league. In 1993 he was given the 11 year old county team for VYI and has held that position ever since. Jeff’s teams have won 4 county championships and have been to the finals 7 other times in his 15 years of coaching in the county.

Jeff was an assistant for 2 Vogues teams in the past before taking his own team in 2005. His 11 year old national team finished with an overall record of 50-4 and finished in the top 10 in the country at the national tournament in his first year as a Vogues head coach.  In 2006, Jeff coached the same group as the previous year and finished #7 in the country.  In 2007 he remained with the 12 year old age group that team finished #17 in the nation. His philosophy on coaching at the AAU level is to put a lot of pressure on the opponent with team defense and to control the ball on offense with good ball movement. Every player on the team gets an opportunity to play in most games to help contribute to the success of the team.

In 2005, Jeff became an assistant coach at Paul VI High School . He helped the JV team to a 17-2 record for the season and first place in the WCAC conference.  He remains an assistant coach at Paul VI.
