Bio
for Coach Billi Ford
Billi Ford played for the Vogues for eight
years and is making a return to the organization as a head coach for
the first time. She was a member of the '81 Vogues team that
finished in the top 16 at every Nationals between 1992-1999. It also
included a National Championship and a Second Place finish. She
played her high school basketball at Mount Vernon High School and
Hayfield Secondary School where she was a 4-time 1st team
All-District Player. She attended Lehigh University where she was
the starting point guard for two years and led her team in assist
per games for two years. Ford was a county coach in the Falls Church
boys program for three years. She led her team to the county
championship game and was named Coach of the Year in 2006. She is a
Research Associate for the Human Resource Research Organization (HumRRO)
in Alexandria, VA.
Bio
for Coach Andrew Nickle
Andrew will be the Assistant Coach to Billi
Ford for the Vogues U13 National Team. This is Andrew's first year
with the Vogues and first season coaching girl's basketball. As a
coach for the last six years, Andrew began coaching boys basketball
in 2002 in the City of Falls Church recreation league. After two
years of coaching recreation league, Andrew was selected to coach
Falls Church Boys travel basketball in the Fairfax County Youth
Basketball League (FCYBL). He has coached FCYBL for the last four
years. During this period, Andrew has coached 10U, 11U, 12U and 13U
teams. Team highlights - U10 team won the county championship
tournament in 2004, U11 team won the 2005 BRYC Holiday tournament
and the U12 team won a Cardinal Basketball tournament in the spring
of 2006. In addition to coaching in the winter FCYBL, Andrew has
coached teams in various spring, summer and fall leagues.
Andrew believes in basic skill building and development through
demonstration, instruction and practice along with team unity with
emphasis on building team cohesiveness.
