- The Vogues 9U National team had a successful trip to AAU
Nationals in Fort Myers, FL. The team tied for 13th in
the Nation. They won 2 of 3 games in bracket play--including an exciting
25-23 win over the Hornets (NY). In the Championship bracket, the
Vogues overcame an early 19-9 deficit to defeat the NE Philadelphia
Rockers 51-46, in a thrilling overtime victory. The team lost in
the next round to Team Sol--an excellent team that finished 2nd in the
Nation. The Vogues won their next game against the North Georgia
Heat and advanced to play Tennessee Team Pride. Despite a valiant
effort, in which the Vogues took an early lead, too many missed lay-ups
and foul shots resulted in an 8 point loss. Congratulations to the

- The Vogues 15 National team won the gold at the Pax
River Super Regional Tournament this past weekend with a 4-1 record and
qualified for nationals. Among the top tournament competitors were the
Beltway Cougars, James Lee Razorbacks, MD Shooting Stars and NY Lady
Liberty. The Vogues finished 2nd in their pool after losing to the MD
Shooting Stars by 15. That matched the girls against the first place NY
Lady Liberty who finished pool play undefeated. What wonders a good
nights sleep can do. The Vogues put on a clinic, beating an extremely
athletic and talented Lady Liberty team, 64-44. It was awesome
basketball at both ends of the court. This win moved the Vogues into the
championship game against the team that had beaten them by 15, the MD
Shooting Stars. It was a well played game by both teams but the Shooting
Stars ran in to a problem...conditioning...they couldn't keep up with
the pace of the game. Result...Vogues 52 - Shooting Stars 46. The Vogues
played two AWESOME games on Sunday and I'm really proud of them --
